INF- 103 Class Summary (4-4-17)

Today’s class of INF-103 was all about reminding all students of all future homework and projects. Profesor Vantaggiato explained how the dynamic of the last project will run. He went to detail and told the class all the necessary information that is needed for evaluation. This included guide questions, even the need to record interviews from experts in different areas, but is has to have some computer relation.

Leaving that to aside, we discussed the history of computers, Profesor Vantaggiato, talked briefly about how computers started, he asked us if we could imagine life without computers. “Think about the work desks 1950’s and 1960’s”, he said, then he proceded to search for pictures of the first computers ever made. He explained that after World War II, computers or “human calculators”(term used at that time) began to be developed. Back then almost all computers took an entire room space. And back then they had a very small amount of data memory, but they were usually used for calculations. He then proceded to show us pictures of the first PCs ever sold in the market. He first showed us a PC from IBM, and also he showed us the first ever Apple Macintosh from 1984.

Finally, the last subject we touched was about the website knightlab.com, which is used to do a couple of activities. Since we have a homework coming up that has us to do a timeline about the history of the computer, and this website can help you do that.
